Hair Advice Needed!

To follow the 2-hour conversation with bright red-haired lady in London, I need some advice. And, I’m going to shamelessly use my blog to ask for it.

I’m sick to death of being bleached blonde. It’s been nearly two years, and that may be a record amount of time for me to have kept a hair color.

This is what I look like now in my front room:

Blonde MAL

This is me with dark hair two years ago at a club:

Brunette MAL

And these are some colors I’m heading towards (so as not to frighten my lovely boyfriend too much, I’m opting for gradual darkening as he’s only known me as a blonde):

Jessica Alba’s color on the left side as a blonde. Subtle but pretty.

jessica-alba-from-blonde-to-brunetteOr, Julia Roberts slight shade of red and blonde mixed:

Julia Roberts BlondOr Mena Suvari:

Mena Suvari Blonde

Honestly, I’m tempted to just go in and say “Do whatever you want!” That’s how frustrated I am. I understand the colors may be a bit similar…

But, any advice from my loyal and lovely readers would be greatly appreciated.

I think all you have to do is to iron your hair for a better style, the two years ago photo is surely glamorous because of your hair color and the straight hair style. Check out this two bands of hair iron that you can use GHD vs CHI.

Meg, Meg, Meg......coming from your redheaded best friend in NYC you know what must be done. Go dark girl! With some thick full bangs.
Jock, you'll be ok, people can hold your hand. there will be support all around. She looks like a movie star with this sexy, rich color.

But knowing you Meg, you'll probably go red cause you really haven't done that before. :]

  • Ohhh, sounds like Julia Roberts is at top.
OK, well, I have an appointment this time next week...hopefully the hair dresser won't put her foot down when I tell her.
Perhaps Julia with fringe i.e. bangs...
    Thanks guys for your help!!

I would say if you want a subtle change go with the Julia Roberts color. If you want something completely different and dramatic go for a rich dark brown or black!!! oooh black! sexxxy!
  • Love you with the brunette and fringe (bangs). Go darker, it really suits you.

I like the Mena look too . Second is Julia Roberts, but that's a LOT darker than what you have now. Regardless of what you choose , you are beautiful so it will all suit you !!!
  • I prefer blondes, obviously, and prefer Mena's shade. I'm sorry, but I think dark hair makes me look older and I tend feel that way about most women. Once they add highlights or lighten their shade, it takes years off of their looks.

i'm liking Mena Suvari...or a darker blonde, ala Charlize Theron...or a dark blonde/reddish color, ala Mary Kate Olsen (when she had blondish/red hair :)).
    GOOD luck!
  • Totally Julia Roberts for you :-) Best of both worlds, a bit of red, a bit of blonde.
  • I just had my hair cut off, it was getting so long. I got a thing for redheads at the moment, so the more copper the better. Peace!
